Ready. Set. Go!  FIRST Adventures are a great opportunity to get acquainted with the area and meet many other first year students.  Not only will you have the opportunity to have a fun time and get to know others, you will also meet many faculty and get the "low down" on campus.

Included in each Adventure are meals, lodging, and too many extras to list.  This year, Adventures start the Saturday afternoon before classes begin and last though Sunday.

Register for an Adventure today via your
Student Checklist!

Info will be emailed to your Mines account in early July!

Adventures 2009

Camping - The adventure begins near Sylvan Lake where you will set up camp and do some hiking, as well as get to know one another. On Sunday, you will hike to Harney Peak, the highest point in the Black Hills.

CAMP - Be introduced into vehicle design within CAMP (Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing and Production). Take a front row seat and learn about our first-rate competition teams while getting hands-on experience.

Hiking - Get to know the breathtaking side of the Black Hills with a hike through canyons and over hills that few have the opportunity to see. This activity will also provide a chance to visit an abandoned mine and to collect minerals that Black Hills are famous for.

Intervarsity - Join Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, the largest Christian Student Organization on campus, in some fun activities around the Black Hills and participate in a community service project that will benefit the area.

Spirit and Pride - Learn more about the school traditions and involvement with school activities. Complete various projects, and be the cheer section at the volleyball game. You will also meet several faculty and administrators at the School of Mines.
