Fall Move In Dates
- 2010
If you need to move in before
your designated check-in date, contact Residence Life to make arrangements for
early arrival (the easiest way to contact us, just
email). There
is a $25 early arrival charge plus an $13.00 per night for each night before your
designated check-in date. These charges will be placed on your fall account.
PETERSON HALL returning
students - you MUST check-in to get your ID card encoded to your room
door and verify your prox card number/access.
Summer Residents – beginning Monday,
July 19, Residence Life will contact you about moving to your room for fall
semester. We appreciate you being able to complete your move within a week of
us contacting you.
Football Preseason Camp -
Saturday, August 7 –
check in at Surbeck Center between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (Sunday, August 8
starting at 8:00 a.m.) – You’ll need to
check with Coach K for any team commitments on Saturday and Sunday. Remember
that during preseason, you may have off-campus team members staying with you in
your room. If your parents/family
are traveling with you and they need housing, please contact us ASAP – we do
have limited rooms available. If you’re planning to get a hotel room, keep in
mind the Sturgis Rally is in full-swing this weekend and hotel rooms may be at
a premium. FB players assigned to quads/study quads for fall semester will
be housed temporarily in doubles as the summer conferencing season comes to a
close.
Volleyball Preseason Camp -
Saturday, August 7 –
check in at Surbeck Center between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (Sunday, August 8
starting at 8:00 a.m.) – You’ll need to
check with your Coach Mastin for any team commitments on Saturday/Sunday. If your parents/family
are traveling with you and they need housing, please contact us ASAP – we do
have limited rooms available. If you’re planning to get a hotel room, keep in
mind the Sturgis Rally is in full-swing this weekend and hotel rooms are at

Apartment Residents -
Your agreement dates begin on August 15 - you are welcome to move-in any time
starting on August 15 at no extra cost. Keys and paperwork will be
available at the Surbeck main desk during normal business hours. If you
are arriving after 10 p.m. be sure to contact ResLife in advance to make
arrangements.
Resident Assistants - Friday and Saturday, August
20 & 21 – check in at Surbeck Center (Friday between 8:00
a.m. – 10:00 p.m./Saturday between noon and 10:00 p.m.). Training begins at
noon on Sunday, August 22.
FIRST Adventure Participants -
Saturday, August 28– check in at Surbeck Center between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
You’ll need to be ready to start your adventure Saturday afternoon . . .
Residence Hall Students - All
remaining students . . .
Saturday, August 28 - Peterson Hall students check in at Surbeck Center's main desk between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Connolly and Palmerton residents check in at the Palmerton/Connolly Commons
between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Don't forget if you're also in FIRST
Adventures, you'll need to stop by Surbeck Center. Check in at Surbeck
Center after 4 pm. Arrivals after 10:00 p.m., please make
advance arrangements with ResLife.
Sunday, August 29 and Monday, August 30 -
Check in at Surbeck Center's main desk between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Arrivals after 10:00 p.m., please make
advance arrangements with ResLife.
If you arrive to campus after
August 31, check in will be at the ResLife Office in Surbeck Center.
What does it mean to
“check-in?” You will review your room with ResLife
staff and sign off on a Room Condition Report; and once we’ve got your signature
on all the paperwork, we’ll give you your keys/ID card to the building/your
room. Then, you have access to your room and can start hauling boxes – the
Mines Move-In Crew will be available to assist on most move-in days . . .
Remember, when you move in, you are putting into full effect the
Housing Agreement portion of the application and agreement.
Move in Weekend
- August 28 & 29
Saturday night - cookout, movie, games and more
Sunday - mandatory meeting for all residence hall students 4:26 p.m. in the
Surbeck Ballroom - don't miss it!! Followed by dinner in the cafeteria
and the beginning of Welcome Week activities.
